Objective To observe the influence of the compatibility of berberine and evodiamine on liver HMG-CoA reductase (3-hydroxy-3-methyl glutaryl coenzyme A reductase) gene and L-FABP (liver fatty acid binding protein) gene of hyperlipidemia rats model. Methods 40 healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, blank control group, model group, simvastatin group, High dose group and low dose group of the Compatibility of berberine and evodiamine.Blank control group was giving distilled water by intragastric administration at 9am and 4pm, model group was giving high fat emulsion at 9am and distilled water at 4pm.Other groups were taken high fat emulsion at 9am and drug at 4pm by intragastric administration. The experiment was last for 12 days, and the volume of perfusion was 1ml/100g in all groups. All rats were fasting for 14h at the 13th day, blood of the rats was taken by arteria femoralis for detecting lipid and liver was taken for examing mRNA of HMG-CoA reductase and L-FABP by RT-PCR.The reference gene was 18sRNA.Results The compatibility of berberine and evodiamine could decrease the expression of HMG-CoA reductase and L-FABP mRNA (p<0.05).Effect of high dose group was better. Conclusion The compatibility of berberine and evodiamine decrease the lipid of hyperlipidemia rats' mode and the mechanism is related with inhibiting gene expression of HMG-CoA reductase and L-FABP.
