Inflammation and infection severely influence the physiology of immune cells and as a result also of whole organs.With the advent of modem imaging approaches this aspect can be assessed with unprecedented resolution,both spatially and in time.I will present the effect of sterile as well as bacterial,fungal and viral infection on the behavior of innate and adaptive immune cells in vivo.
