  As an innovative manufacturing technology,the additive manufacturing (AM) has achieved a rapid development and led a revolution in the field of manufacturing.Though the combination of the topology optimization and AM shows a promising potential and high design flexibility,there are still some limitations that need to be considered in the design stage.A typical one of these limitations is the overhang constraint (as shown in Fig.1): the inclination of structural downward facing surfaces from the horizontal plane should be larger than a certain angle,so as to prevent the structure from warping or collapsing during the AM process.
