As a new type of composite material, functionally graded materials (FGM) have been widely used in engineering application since 1990s.Many studies have focused on the wave propagation behaviour in various FGM layered structures[1-3].To study the wave propagation behaviour in an inhomogeneous medium with material varying continuously along depth, both numerical and analytical methods are employed for solving the wave propagation governing equations.
