Al-Cu-Mg alloy (Duralumin) has a high strength and used in aerospace industry from the early 19th century.Traditionally, it has been strengthened by dispersed fine precipitates.3 decades ago, severe plastic deformation (SPD) methods were developed and many researchers were interested in SPD process because it could produce bulk forms of ultrafine or nano-grained materials.
