Effect of temperature and heating rate on mechanical properties of aluminium alloy

Using Gleeeble-1500, a systematic experimental study for the effect of the temperature and heating rate on the mechanical properties of A5052 aluminium ahoy was investigated.In this experiment, specimens were heated at different heating-rates to prescribed temperatures and then stretched until fracture.The experimental result shows, accompanying the increase in temperature, the strength of the material become lower, and its shrinkage ratio become higher, and with increase in heating rate, the strength and shrinkage of the material become higher in moderate heating rate, and lower in higher heating rate.The level of the effect of the heating rate on the strength and plasticity of the material is dependents on the temperature.
