  Soil moisture is an important part of water cycle and water balance,acting as a primary factor in connecting climate and vegetation.The upper reach of the Heihe watershed is located in the southern part of Qilian mountain,which produces most runoff in the Heihe watershed.In the upper reach of Heihe watershed,various soil types,topography,vegetation,and landuse have great impacts on the spatial variation of soil moisture.
