In this paper,Using RS/GIS technology and field monitoring methods,the satellite images of Baiyangdian basin from land resource satellite Landsat7ETM in May,2005 was operated by vector analysis,and the ecological status of Baiyangdian basin was evaluated.The results showed that Baiyangdian basin had higher vegetation cover rate and biodiversity,and the ecological environment index (EI) was 69.83 that the status was "good" level.But Baiyangdian basin water network density index was very small,only 10.74,which was a limiting factor affecting ecological environment of Baiyangdian basin and ecosystem health of Baiyangdian Lake.
