OBJECTIVE: Increased arterial stiffness occurs early in hypertension and is considered to play an important role in cardiovascular events.Xuezhikang, an extract of Cholestin, contains statin-like components.It is hypothesized that treatment with Xuezhikang can reduce arterial stiffness in patients with essential hypertension.
