八十年代以来,随着国民经济的发展和水污染,缺水问题的加剧,我国的城市,特别是沿海地区、经济发达地区及旅游地区的城市,建设了不少污水处理厂。大规模、高标准的污水处理厂也不断增多。如:北京高碑店污水处理厂一期工程二级处理能力达到50万m~3/d,而广州大坦沙污水处理厂、深圳市滨河污水处理厂三期工程等已具备了脱氮除磷的功能。
