In the process of recovery from an infection, individuals produce potent IgG antibodies that contribute to the healing process and can help prevent them from being infected again by the same pathogens.This antibody repertoire is ideal as a source of passive immunotherapeutics to provide immediate immunity to infectious diseases and bioterror agents to non-immune individuals.Antibodies can be transfused as either intravenous immunoglobulins (IVIG), hyperimmune antisera, or monoclonal antibodies.
