This paper tells the concept of Chinese style and its historical origin, discusses integration and application of Chinese elements, and presents the exploration and purification of concrete symbols, and the inheritance and extension of abstract. Than this paper interprets some enlightenment from the prevalence of Chinese style, shows the Chinese style in modern design is a harmonious combination of different comprehensions to culture and beauty. Consisting of concrete symbol elements as well as abstract cultural conceptions, the Chinese element is a comprehensive extraction of patterns, colors, forms, quality, values, cultural principles, etc. Extension and development of the traditional Chinese cultural art in the modern design shall be the extraction of "form", extension of "connotation" and than expression of "spirit" on the basis of interpretation, which shall be a representation of the essence of Chinese culture by modern international language and integration of the spirit elements in Chinese cultures into modern design.
