　　Melatonin is an indole derivative that secreted rhythmically from pineal gland, which obtain strong free radicals scavenging ability and participate in folliculogenesis in mammals.Theca cell is one type of follicular cells that plays critical role in follicle development mainly by producing steroid hormones.However, the effects and mechanisms of melatonin on mammalian ovarian theca cells are still not very clear.
