CKIP-1 was first identified as an interactive protein of casein kinase 2a and was implicated in tumor cell proliferation, muscle cell differentiation, cell apoptosis, the regulation of cell morphology, and the actin cytoskeleton.We previously showed that CKIP-1-deficient mice displayed increased osteoblast activity and accelerated bone formation.
