"Shot-gun" proteomics describes a sequential process in which the proteins are digested into peptides for fragmentation by tandem mass spectrometry and identification through spectra-to-sequence matching [1].The problem exiting in this strategy is that the complexity of the proteins and the peptides generated in the original proteolysis step is far beyond the capacity of available analytical platforms [2-4].
