Transient receptor potential (TRP) channels are a large family of non-selective cation channels,including a total of 28 members in mammalian species.These members are divided into six subfamilies according to the sequence similarities:TRPC1-7 (canonical),TRPA1 (ankyrin),TRPV1-6 (vanilloid),TRPM1-8 (melastatin),TRPP1-3 (polycystin) and TRPML1-3 (mucolipin).
