　　Brown-rot basidiomycete Serpula lacrymans is the most common and most destructive wood decay fungus, which attacks and damages houses and other wooden constructions worldwide.In brown-rot decay both nonenzymatic and enzymatic mechanisms are involved.Carbohydrate active enzymes and oxidoreductases belong to the enzymes responsible for lignocellulose breakdown.
