Currently,the standard approach to cancer treatment is chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy and surgical resection [1].However,emerging multidrug resistance (MDR) usually happens after a couple of chemotherapy courses and becomes a major reason leading to failure in anticancer treatment [2].Fortunately,by right of some MDR-reversible traditional Chinese medicines (TCMs),combinational administration of TCMs and chemotherapeutics provides a promising strategy compared to circumvent MDR.Nevertheless,the dose and ratio of MDR-reversible TCMs and chemotherapeutics are still lack of standardization in clinic treatment.Microemulsion,as a nano-sized drug delivery system for solubilizing water-insoluble components,is usually composed of oil,surfactant and co-surfactant.Inspired by such a composition,several oil-like and MDR-reversible TCMs could be potentially used to fabricate a microemulsion.
