Purpose Retinal ischemia/reperfusion(I/R)injury causes the death of retinal ganglion cells(RGCs),however the underlying mechanisms by which IR injury induces RGCs death are not clarified.Increasing evidence suggests that microglia are activated during IR injury and TLR4 signaling is triggered by CNS IR injury and plays an important part in the death of neurons.
