Background In this era of interventional catheterization, acute tamponade from cardiac perforation as a complicationis encountered more frequently.The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes, differential diagnosis and management of acute cardiac tamponade caused by cardiac interventions.Methods We conducted a retrospective analysis during the period of 2009 to 2012, to review and assess the causes,differential diagnosis and treatment of acute cardiac tamponade.
