Background Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) increases the risk of atherosclerotic diseases characterized by endothelial dysfunction.Adropin, a metabolic homeostasis-related protein, which exerts endothelial protection in murine, has been implicated in negative correlation with metabolic risk factors in humans. It remains unknown whether adropin are negatively associated with patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and T2DM.In this study, we investigated serum adropin levels in CAD patients with and without T2DM and evaluated the relationship between the levels and the severity of CAD.
