Main-chain/side-chain combined liquid crystalline polymers (MCSCLCPs) have more complicated structures and liquid crystalline (LC) phase behaviors compared to conventional liquid crystalline polymers (LCPs) because of the competition and cooperation of the main-chain and side-chain LC mesogens[1].The bulky side groups containing mesogens usually make the polymerization very difficult and the degrees of polymerization of MCSCLCPs are relatively low, which bring difficulties in the investigation of structure-property relationships in MCSCLCPs.
