Superelastic NiTi polycrystalline SMA strips, when subjected to uniaxial stretching,undergo deformation instability and transform from initial austenite to a high-strain phase, i.e.martensite, by the nucleation and growth of macroscopic parallelogram-shaped domains as deformation processes.
