Worldwide around three billion tons of cement are produced every year and cement consumption is expected to further increase in the future.Cement production is a very energy and CO2 intensive process and contributes significantly to all aspects of manmade climate change.Various product and process related developments aiming at the reduction of e.g.the CO2-intensity of cement production are followed by the international cement industry for many years.
