Automatic meter reading (AMR) system based on power line communication (PLC) is an important method and component of household energy business management.This paper briefly describes three parts of the system architecture: center host, concentrators, and watt-hour meter system.Then it analyses technology of power line carrier communication, such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)and ant colony algorithm (ACA).And then it provides the software and hardware solutions of the concentrator.The system chooses Cortex-M3 as the main processor and the operation system is UCOS-Ⅱ.Finally it analyses and verifies the reliability and practicability of the system.
