Oxidative desulfurization (ODS) has been considered to be one of the promising alternative methods for deep desulfurization,because it can be performed under very mild conditions to remove the refractory sulfur compounds,dibenzothiophene (DBT) and its derivative.In addition,ionic liquids (ILs) owing to their high affinity to sulfur-containing compounds are also widely used in the desulfurization of diesel oil.In this work,a new desulfurization system of diesel oil by dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma oxidation and combination of IL extraction was studied.The rich and cheap air is ionized by DBD plasma that produce ozone and abundant activity radicals such as ·O,·O-,·O2 -,which have strong oxidative ability to oxidize sulfur compounds into the corresponding sulfoxides and/or sulfones.
