Background Tirofiban therapy has important impact in patients with acute myocardial infarction who suffered from incomplete ST segment resolution after primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).Myocardial longitudinal strain and post systolic index (PSI) evaluated by speckle tracking echocardiography are novel methods to evaluate myocardial segmental function. We hypothesized that myocardial longitudinal strain and PSI could be used to predict the need oftirofiban therapy after PCI in patients with acute myocardial infarction and incomplete ST segment resolution.
