According to references,being exposed to nature definitely bring benefits to physical and mental conditions.Recently,researches on benefits to health from landscape therapy,horticultural therapy and green exercise have been published.However,in the past,it was unusual to have systematic review discussing the health benefits of approaching nature.The purpose of this paper is to analyze existing literatures and suggest future research challenges through systematic reviews.The references result in the number of 1,103 when searching keywords in CEPS,NTLTD,NCL and SSCI for "horticultural therapy","benefits of therapy","systematic review",etc.Exclude those non-associated with the natural landscape,the non-health-related,qualitative research,and the repeated,finally,a total of 24 articles met the criteria.A Modified Jadad Scale was used by two authors to evaluate the quality of articles published.As the systematic reviews show,getting exposed to nature can trigger positive emotions and relieve mental and physical stress.Hence,more and more people are in favor of planting in house,participating in outdoor activities and travelling to increase the opportunities of getting close to nature landscape.Proved by a bundle of literatures,natural landscape provides people with mental and physical benefits,for instance,improving positive mental reactions such as joyfulness,comfort,attention restoration,reduction of stress,promotion of frustration tolerance,sense of achievement on work,and interaction between parents and children.In physical aspect,it can relieve the feeling of pain,slow down heart rate and blood pressure,reduce EMG,SCR and skin temperature,as well as induce our brains to produce more α wave.
