The oriental fruit moth Grapholita (=Cydia) molesta is one of the most serious pest in fruit orchards of China.Little is known on the population genetics of this native pest in the country.Five polymorphic microsatellite loci and two mitochondrial gene fragments were used to characterize the population genetic structure and genetic diversity of the oriental fruit moth, for the first time in the major fruit growing region of China.
