Compared to other kinds of enterprises,the informatization and automation degree of garment enterprise is relatively low.Even for those companies with traditional information system such as ERP,there is a wide gap between the physical flow of materials and the associated information flow.So,at present,many decisions such as working out production plan and shop scheduling problems are made based on experience or data which is assumed rather than real-time and actual.In order to bridge the wide gap and provide sufficient information for decision making,RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is introduced to production management of garment enterprise.In this paper,a garment production management system architecture based on RFID technology is proposed.Also,an application solution for shop floor RFID implementation is presented.The application of RFID technology could help to track work in process (WIP) and improve the transparency and visibility of manufacturing system,therefore,greatly improve the efficiency of production management.An application system is developed based on the aforementioned architecture and it is successfully implemented in a garment enterprise.The performance of the enterprise is greatly improved.
