Aim: The present study investigated the effects of WS070117, a novel small molecule compound, on foam cell formation, and the possible underlying mechanism.Methods: J774.A1 murine macrophages were pretreated with different concentrations of WS070117 (25, 50, and 100 μmol/L) and then incubated with oxLDL for 24 h.Detection of foam cell formation is conventionally practiced by Oil Red O (ORO) and Filipin staining of lipid-laden macrophages.
