Small heat shock proteins (sHSPs) play crucial roles for protein quality control in cells.It ispoorly understood what natural substrate proteins, with respect to structural characteristics,are preferentially bound by sHSPs in cells.Here I compared the structural characteristicsfor the natural substrate proteins of Eseherichia coli IbpB and Deinococcus radioduransHsp20.2 with the respective bacterial proteome.
