Background Complete atrio-ventrieular block (cAVB) is a serious complication of ventficular septal defects device closure. It can occur immediately or late after occluder closure. The best therapeutic approach to treat the cAVB after device closure is unclear in clinical practice.Pacemaker implantation is recommended for some patients with complete heart block. However, is it necessary to implant a lifelong cardiac pace-maker in these specific patients? In this study, we evaluate the occurrence of spontaneous recovery of atrioventricular conduction after post-intervention complete atrioventricular block in ventricular septal defect closure and discuss its clinical implications.
