　　The term sustainable transport evokes a wide range of images and perceptions among urban researchers,transport professionals and lay people alike;in the light of the significant contribution of the sector to global energy consumption and GHG emissions.This research examines the dynamics of urban transportation infrastructural systems and services in Ghana and Australia using systemic approach.The transportation industry is identified as a complex system with socio-technical interactions at multiple levels.
