Deletion of the gene for fission yeast LAMMER kinase, Ikh1+, displays slower cell growth, shorter cell length, and abnormal DNA content in comparison to the wild type.These phenotypes suggest that Lkh1 controls the cell size and cell-cycle progression.Microarray analysis using the Ikh1-deletion mutant revealed various classes of genes, whose expression was affected by the LAMMER kinase Lkh1.
