Many plants have natural substances (essential oils,latex and oil) in their roots,flowers,leaves and stems that can repel (anti feedents) and / or attract insects.In this study the effect of pesticide activity of Ferula assa-foetida active substances was investigated for spider-mite control of Cucumis melo var.inodorous and compared with the plants that treated by pesticide (Zolone) application as control.The results showed that in some cases there were significant different between natural and synthetic control,and in some cases there were not any significant different between natural and pesticide control of the pests.Finally,results reveals new opportunities for decrease of chemical use for pests control and ability of natural substances for pesticides substitution and suitable for organic production of Cucumis melo var.inodorous in open field conditions.
