Siloles have a low-lying LUMO and believed to be excellent electron-transporting materials.We have developed a series of transition-metal-catalyzed reactions affording silole derivatives.Fully substituted siloles are synthesized by rhodium-catalyzed 2:1 coupling of alkynes and a disilane.[1]Rhodium-catalyzed intramolecular trans-bis-silylation gives 3-silyl-1-benzosiloles.
