In this work, compounds are prepared on the basis of the interaction of (di)chloro(di)nitrobenzofuroxans with different aliphatic, aromatic amines, diamines, amino acids and nitroaminoalcohols. We have described antibacterial and antifungal activity of a series of benzofuroxans with different amine moieties. The screening data show that benzofuroxans exhibit excellent activity towards gram-positive bacteria especially Staphylococcus aureus, gram-negative bacteria Escherichia coli and fungi especially Candida albicans with the MICs values comparable with Chloramphenicol, Ketoconazole and Amphotericin B.[1] Presence of nitro-group and chlorine atom is very important for biological activity of benzofuroxan and their place in molecule has great meaning.
