　　Voltage-gated sodium (Nay) channels are critical in the generation and transmission of neuronal signals.The crystal structures of several prokaryotic Nay channels solved in recent years rouse the passion to explore their molecular mechanisms of ion selection, which is generally considered to be determined by the selectivity filter.
