MGN-3 is a nutritional supplement derived from rice bran hemicellulose that has been enzymatically treated with multiple hydrolyzing enzymes from Lentinus edodes mycelia (Shiitake mushrooms).MGN-3 is known as an activator of natural killer (NK) cells and inducer of apoptosis and cytokine production.MGN-3 induced maturation of IL-4 and GM-CSF-treated peripheral monocytes to dendritic cells (DCs), as these treated cells down-regulated CD 14 and CD la antigens on cell surface and significantly increased expression of maturation marker CD83.
