1,2,3,4-and 1,2,3,16-tetrasubstituted fullerene derivatives are obtained with high regioselectivity by electrochemical modification of a [60]fulleroindoline derivative.The structures are determined by spectroscopic data and single-crystal X-ray analysis.A plausible reaction mechanism supported by computational calculations is proposed.
