Fungi are the secondary largest organism on earth and the numbers of fungal species have been estimated to be 1,500,000, 616,320 ± 308,100 and 5,100,000 by different scientists.Development of culture-independent method has resulted in a new insight of fungal diversity.A number of high ranks of fungi such as Cryptomycota, Archaeorhizomycetes have been determined and reported.Studies on fungi in unusual niches have indicated that many unculturable fungi could be culturable on certain substrates and conditions.
