Brassica juncea (2n = 36,AABB) is an allotetraploid derived from interspecific hybridization between B.rapa (2n = 20,AA) and B.nigra (2n = 16,BB) and followed by spontaneous chromosome doubling.B.juncea is mainly used as a vegetable in China and Southeastern Asia,and is a source of oil in India and Europe.The species evolve unique traits with wider growth and development and metabolism variations.
