For many years I have asked the same question as a nurse educator,why atter so many years of funding Government and Non-Government projects to address HIV/AIDS,many countries are facing a pandemic.My concern for some nursing students (nurses) who were teenagers when they commenced nursing training was their lack of knowledge of teenage pregnancy,Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV/AIDS (sensitive issues).This led to a review of several Health Education and Health Promotion projects implemented in secondary schools and nurse education.Utilising lessons learned to develop creative strategies in Health Promotion; sixteen nurses were facilitated and empowered and in turn empowered secondary school pupils to make informed choices.
