Because of lightweight and good mechanical properties, aluminum-silicon casting alloys, especially Al-Si-Mg, are mainly applied as automotive engine components for the weight reduction demand.In this work, four alloys with the compositions of Al-7Si-0.3Mg,Al-7Si-0.3Mg-0.5Hf, Al-7Si-0.3Mg-0.15Zr and Al-7Si-0.3Mg-0.5Hf-0.15Zr had been cast and subsequently heat treated at the temperature 560℃ for 20 hours.
