Introduction Parkinsons disease (PD) is one of the most common neurodegenerative diseases in the world. It is suggested that oxidative stress caused by excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and subsequent cell death may play a pivotal role in the neurodegeneration of PD.Gastrodia elata Blume (GE) has long been utilized in Oriental countries to treat symptoms related with central nervous system. Therefore, GE is selected for studying the possible neuroprotective effect to ROS damage in PD by its abilities to control proteins related to cell degradation.
