Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) ranks about seventh among all malignant tumors.About one-third patients report constitutional symptoms, while paraneoplastic syndromes occur in another one-third.Hemophagocytosis is a rare entity of the syndromes.The mechanism is unclear, but deranged cytokine interaction among histiocytes, cytotoxic T-cells and natural killer cells due to defective perforin 12 and other cytotoxic molecules might be the explanation.
