Developing English language writing competencepresents a major challenge to ESL/EFL learners,and meeting this challenge is critical tothe academic progress of these students.When they try to write an English composition，theywould generally do these things in thewriting process：planning，writing and revising，amongwhich revising is most important forthe improvement of their writing．However.fewresearches have been done on the process ofrevision in L2 writing.Hence the purpose of thepresent study is tO find out the characteristicsof online revision of English compositions by Chinese EFL/ESL learners.
