  Volatile organic compounds(VOCs) are important air pollutants which make great contribution to the environmental problems and do damages to human health.Due to its high removal efficiency and absence of secondary pollution, catalytic combustion has been widely used to revove VOCs [1].Both noble metal based catalysts and transition metal oxide catalysts have been used in catalytic combustion.Regarded as one of the most common active component, platinum based catalyst has been widely used for toluene oxidation, and its performance was reported to relate to its supports [2].Featuring highly ordered pores, anodic alumina (AAO) makes an ideal support for catalytic support.Its controllable pore diameters and thickness, and excellent heat transfer property, together with its confinement effect on the selectivity and activity of the catalyst, make AAO a perfect support for catalytic nanolith [3].
