　　Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is one of the predominant cancers found in Southeastern China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.Flavonoids and its derivatives are common components found in traditional Chinese medicine and food.Several studies indicated flavonoids could benefit in cancer therapy.We recently discovered a series ofoxime-containing flavone derivatives with potent anticancer activity.Among over 30 different oxime-containing flavone derivatives, (Z)-6-[2-hydroxyimino-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)ethoxy]-2-pheny1-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one (WTC01) possessed most potent activity against NPC cells growth with IC50 of 400 nM.
